comments: I enjoy combining the precision of the Statler stitcher patterns with the uniqueness of free-motion quilting/fillers. I often do edge-to-edge patterns on "busy" quilts that just need to be quilted. However, if the quilt has a lot of blank space-solid fabrics, I might recommend quilting each block,or group of blocks with an individual motif. This is more expensive but well worth it. Before making a firm commitment as to what will go on your quilt I, like to "sleep on it" (not the quilt, just the vision of your quilt) and picture that would best enhance the piecing and/or the fabric. I've been machine quilting since about the year 2002 (my 50th birthday!) and upgraded my Gammill to a Statler Stitcher a little less than a year ago. What a fun job! I will do whole-cloth quilts or pillows for customers, using my own fabric or theirs, but as a general policy, I can't commit myself to piecing quilts for customers.
